Tori Albert is eighteen, her confidence level is zero. Her life experience…also zero. She’s a girl lost in the shuffle, hiding in the shadows, craving attention. If only someone, anyone, would notice her, maybe life would improve.
Grant Donovan can’t stop noticing Tori, but she is young, inexperienced and naïve. She is also his best friend’s younger sister. Grant knows the best thing he can do is just walk away. So why the hell isn’t he walking away?
When a late night knock lands across her bedroom door, Tori knows what stands behind it could end in disaster…but how many time does opportunity come knocking?
Just when she thinks her luck is finally changing, things take an unexpected turn for the worse.
With new assets and a new goal in sight, Tori will soon learn her new found confidence isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Unfortunately, some things you just have to learn the hard way.

In todays world where image is everything is easy to believe we are not pretty enough, that our bodies don't fit the image of perfection we are sold and that we have to change if we want to be loved.

Tori has always been the girl in the back, craving for someone to notice her. In her mind she blames all her "imperfections" for her lack of a romantic life. Now she is eighteen and about to go to college when a sum of events involving her brother's friends complicates her life even more.

The first I want to do is applaud the author for taking this matter in such a good care. Body image is a very current topic and I'm sure we all know someone like Tori. Is hard to see someone hating themselves that much and witness how difficult is to help them. It takes more than words to help them. And sometimes it goes as far as having to witness how they change their exteriors only to continue being unhappy. That's how many eating disorders, plastic surgery obsession and other problems begin.

Torin is well portrayed and despite I didn't relate to her I could feel empathy for her. I understood her pain and most of the time I liked her. Now, Grant wasn't really the perfect match for her. I don't know why but he could have been more direct. He tends to give much thought to things but he doesn't let others know what's in his mind. Anyway, when I really think about it maybe is a good thing that Grant isn't what I expected. Maybe the point of the book is not to see a good looking guy saving the poor sad girl, she needs to learn to love herself.

Their relationship is good but the tension is weak. The attraction is there but the sparks I love to see when two people like each other but are afraid to give in to their feelings weren't exactly there.

The author chose to write the story in a sort of double POV,the first half is Tori's side and then we get to see the events from Grant's eyes.
This was a good choice with a few minor issues. It helps to complete the story and understand the characters' choices but there were a couple chapters that could have been erased.

Overall, I enjoyed Fake Boobs despite not being a strong romance. I liked the topics the author decided to include and I think the ending made the book a worthy reading.
