Graham Hodson lives for adventure. His entire life has revolved around his obsessive wanderlust. His inner fear of staying in one place or being with one person for too long has kept him on the go. The last thing he expects is a sudden diagnosis to ground his travel—permanently.

Boyce “BC” Brooks has screwed up his lifelong dream of being the captain of the English national rugby team. He’s lost everything. When his uncle leaves him an inn and a dog in Cornwall, he has little choice but to try his hand at innkeeper.

Can two jokesters kicked around by life and their own decisions find stability when their world shakes beneath their feet?

Dahlia Donovan wrote her first romance series after a crazy dream about shifters and damsels in distress. She prefers irreverent humour and unconventional characters. An autistic and occasional hermit, her life wouldn’t be complete without her husband and her massive collection of books and video games.

Review: Consurge @dtyllin

TITLE: Consurge
SERIES: Somniare #2
AUTHOR: D.T. Dyllin
RELEASE DATE: October 18th, 2016
PUBLISHER: Tik Tok Press
FORMAT: Paperback & Ebook
SOURCE: complimentary copy

Remy Novem went from one nightmare to another…only this time she’s awake. After clawing her way out of Somniare, Remy finds a world she doesn’t recognize. Her family and friends have been slaughtered, and a war is brewing between light and dark forces. Sacrifices will be made, and unlikely alliances formed, but ultimately the fate of the world will rest on one magical being’s shoulders… And it isn’t Remy.

D.T. Dyllin is a bestselling author who writes both paranormal and contemporary romance. Anything with a love story is her kryptonite. Her obsession with affairs-of-the-heart is what first drove her to begin twisting her own tales of scorching romance.

D.T. was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Black & Gold for life, baby!) She now lives in Little Rock, Arkansas with her husband and two spoiled German Shepherds.

'Consurge' is as dark, intense and full of surprises as the first book. Remy is still fighting to get her life back on track and figuring out how to save the one she loves.

The book is full of action, jumping between worlds and trying to make the right choices. When she start to discover the reason behind her father actions and all the things surrounding her family and her magic your mind is blown away.

The book is well written as usual with all D.T. DYillin's books and the characters are credible and real. Their imperfections make them more believable and you end up liking or hating them. I really enjoyed the little hint to other series written by the author, I liked the connection between the worlds.

So... yes, Remy died and now she is stuck in Somniare, a place where all your worst nightmares can be a reality. She was about to have her big night and as a witch, she was really expecting the event, however, she was murdered and now is fighting for her life back.

Litlle by little we discover this world where witches, faes, kitsunes, and magic are real. We get to witness a lot of action scenes and she is always getting into more complications trying to escape Somniare.

Remy is an interesting character. She has some interesting inner dialogues and sometimes her choices are not the best but she is not perfect and doesn't try to be. I really loved the live doll that goes with her, it was super sweet.

This one was a good change of scenario for D.T. Dyllin given that I'm really used to read her "adult books", this YA is something different but still has her essence. There is a lot of romance of course!!! what's life without romance? but this time the romance is quite tricky and complicated.

Review: Better than the Best @amabel_daniels

TITLE: Better than the Best
AUTHOR: Amabel Daniels
RELEASE DATE: November 2nd, 2015
FORMAT: Paperback & ebook
SOURCE: complimentary copy

A new beginning. Turning a leaf. All that crap.
After her divorce and the death of one of her patients, an ER nurse, Kelly Newland, searches for a fresh start in the little town of Churchston. As she learns to accept her failures in life, she befriends some of the locals, except for one disgruntled man, the hero everybody loves to hate.
He could feel their stares on his back, their judgments hovering over their heads.
Will Parker suffers from PTSD, and as the black sheep of the sleepy lakeside community, he struggles to get back up on his feet. Initially, Kelly and Will mix like oil and water, but as a series of dangerous incidents strike the people closest to them, their antagonism turns from cool to hot. It is only when they realize it is impossible to resist each other that a killer closes in on them, threatening the love they've dared to find.

Amabel Daniels lives in Northwest Ohio with her patient husband, adventurous toddler, smiley baby, and a collection of too many cats and dogs. Although she holds a Master’s degree in Ecology, her true love is finding a good book. When she isn’t spending time outdoors, she’s busy brewing up her next novel, usually as she lets her mind run off with the addictive words of “what if…”

WEBSITE | FACEBOOK | TWITTER | GOODREADS

When you start reading and the first thing you read is about Kelly trapped in the bathroom while her husband is cheating on her, you expect to sort of romance where the main lady rediscovers herself. Well ... this book is far from that.

Yes, Kelly moves to this lovely little town and tries to start over and forget about the past. There is some tension with this guy, Will who is not so bad. But somehow people around here have strange accidents. At the same time, we read the POV of a really strange woman who is after Kelly and we do not know why.

Overall, the mystery is really good. You keep turning the pages trying to guess what's going to happen. The writing is really good. And the characters are great. There were some sex scenes which I thought were also a good addition.

The Edge of Seventeen (2016)

I am no looker.
I'm not a dog either. But I am no looker.
Aylin used to say I was precocious. "Precocious when it comes to boys," she'd say.
By the time I was done dating Conor, I said I was nothing but a fool.
I started dating too early. Antoni was the first guy I ever saw. I was fourteen, close to fifteen, sporting braces on my teeth. We shared a kiss, nothing passionate, innocent.
Until he touched my breasts and I went cold.
Fourteen. Was he a freaking idiot?
Dawson happened after that. It lasted three months. I was more grown up, more developed. My breasts, especially, were more developed.
I hate my breasts.
But it was Conor who would thrust me into the black world of adulthood with an indignant slap I am certain I will never forget.
I write because I am lonely.
I write because I hurt.
I write while tears drip from my eyes, turning the screen of my tablet into splotches of pixelated rainbows.
The way I was brought into this world has nothing to do with how I feel about love.
It has everything to do with how I feel about myself.
How much horror can a mind endure?
Are the pains of a sixteen-year-old laughed at by those older then her?
What pain did my mother suffer? ("Sometimes I went without food so that I wouldn't have to take that bastard's money, Kez.")
My pain is nothing compared to what hers must have been. And yet, the pain I feel is phenomenal.

Tiago

P.S. I Love You (2007)

Just before the sun rises, when the world is silent and the River Tejo laps gently at the stone steps leading to the giant Praça do Comércio square, leaves of golden sunlight shimmer above the surface of Lisbon's great river. This is my favorite time to sit on these steps, flicking stones into the water, letting my gaze drift west toward the ocean.
And I think of her.
I do not weep anymore. My eyes are dry. I have wept this entire river twice over and still that will not bring her back.
The seagulls taunt me, cawing in accusation. I should have moved faster, they say. I should not have been so complacent with my joy.
I never deserved that joy. I know it.

Tiago

Deadly is the Female (1950)

It is the week for meeting Americans. And if I thought my encounter with Dahlia went bad, then I can only compare my meeting with the one called Kezra to something just short of a nuclear war. It's my fault, mostly. But it's also her fault.
I would love to say that our first encounter is quaint and sweet, that it is the type of first-meeting you expect from a Rom-Com.
It is not.
It is a disaster.
And I am nothing short of a hungover bastard.
But let's call a spade a spade. Guilt must be placed where guilt belongs. And this chick is a real stinker of a piece of work too.
I guess you could say I started it.
I did.
But she contributes gladly to the atomic chain reaction which follows.
Dare I say, I think she even revels in it.

NEW RELEASE & GIVEAWAY @victoriajohns75 @NikkerAsh

☆.•°☆.•°*°•.☆ NEW RELEASE & GIVEAWAY ☆.•°*°•.☆°•.☆
I Wanna Get Laid by Kade is out now!  Check out the new contemporary romance everyone is talking about, written by duo Nikki Ashton & Victoria Johns.  Head on over to https://www.facebook.com/NikkiAshtonBooks/ to enter their release day giveaway.

Synopsis
If you lived on the streets and someone offered to change your life, would you? Of course you would, who wouldn’t? But, what if changing your life ruined that of the one person who cared about you? The one person who you cared about in return.

That’s what happened to me, Kade Sutton.

I became the star of a reality TV show, a show that was a catalogue of lies and duplicity. The show meant I got to spend time with Daisy Ingles, a girl whose beautiful smile brightened up my day, every day. This show also meant that I betrayed her. This show gave me many things, but I lost an awful lot too.

Set within the world of reality TV, ‘I Wanna Get Laid by Kade’ will have you hissing and booing at the bad guys, and cheering on the good ones. Kade will make you fall in love with him and Daisy will make you want to fight her corner.

With love, sex and betrayal this is a book you just can’t miss – it’s the path you’re meant to take.

Review: Rarity from the Hollow

TITLE: Rarity from the Hollow
AUTHOR: Robert Eggleton
RELEASE DATE: November 3rd, 2016
PUBLISHER: Dog Horn
FORMAT: Paperback & ebook
SOURCE: complimentary copy

Lacy Dawn's father relives the Gulf War, her mother's teeth are rotting out, and her best friend is murdered by the meanest daddy on Earth. Life in The Hollow isn't great. But Lacy has one advantage -- she's been befriended by a semi-organic, semi-robot who works with her to cure her parents. He wants something in exchange, though. It's up to her to save the Universe.
Will Lacy Dawn's predisposition, education, and magic be enough for her to save the Universe, Earth, and, most importantly, protect her own family?
Rarity from the Hollow is adult literary science fiction filled with tragedy, comedy and satire. It is a children's story for adults, not for the prudish, faint of heart, or easily offended.

Robert Eggleton has served as a children's advocate in an impoverished state for over forty years. He is best known locally for his nonfiction: investigative reports about children’s programs, most of which were published by the West Virginia Supreme Court where he worked from 1982 through 1997; nationally distributed models of serving disadvantaged and homeless children in the community instead of in large institutions; research into foster care drift involving children bouncing from one home to the next -- never finding a permanent loving family; and statistical reports on the occurrence and correlates of child abuse and delinquency in West Virginia. Dozens of his works have been archived by the West Virginia Division of Culture and History.

Today, he is a recently retired children's psychotherapist from a mental health center in Charleston, West Virginia, where he specialized in helping victims cope with and overcome physical and sexual abuse, and other mental health concerns. Two of Eggleton's poems were published in the 1970s and another won first place in 2015 international poetry competition managed by the WSC Science Fiction & Fantasy Club/WillyCon. His debut novel, Rarity from the Hollow, was named one of five best reads in 2015 by a Codices, has been awarded Gold Medals by Awesome Indies and Readers' Favorite, and has been so well received by prominent book critics and reviewers that it is scheduled for republication by Dog Horn Publishing, a traditional small press, in 2016. Three of Eggleton's short stories have appeared in magazines: Wingspan Quarterly, Beyond Centauri, and Atomjack Science Fiction.

Author proceeds from Eggleton's Lacy Dawn Adventures project have been donated to a child abuse prevention program operated by Children’s Home Society of West Virginia. http://www.childhswv.org/ Robert continues to write adult literary science fiction with new adventures based on a protagonist that is a composite character of children that he met when delivering group therapy services. The overall theme of his stories remains victimization to empowerment.

I really don't know how to talk about this book because I ended up with a mix of feelings. And what it's funnier I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing.

Lacy has a difficult childhood but despite all it's quite special because her best friend is a robot (yes, a robot or some sort of). She wants to "fix" her parents and while doing so they live a rare adventure.

There were moments of the book that were hard to read, child abuse and other forms of suffering are exposed and they created damage characters with rich stories. And there were other moments where fantasy and sci-fi elements were the main subject.

As the title says for me this one is a rare book. I enjoyed it for moments (it has a really good writing style so it's easy to do so) and for others, I felt a bit lost.

AMAZON

'The Sire of Humellis' is a good book that helps you think about life in a different way. It's hard to define the story because it is a bit spiritual, a bit sci-fi and we can add adventure to the list.

Adam's life is quite the journey. An accident turns upside down his life and his dreams. What starts as a journey to know new places, cycle again and share with friends soon becomes a race to save humanity and a master plan to change the future.

The story has some surprises and like I said you never know where the story is heading. The writing is good and the reading is not too heavy.
