"What happened to the glass slippers after Cinderella found the prince?" That would be a good question to start this book.
At first I didn't know what to expect from this, but it turned up to be a very good story. Full of action, magic, and a couple of very interesting characters.

The story starts at the same time that the famous ball it's happening. We can see the other side of the story, the workers of the castle running to get everything ready for such an event.

And then the action takes place. Our main female character, Jo, found one of the slippers and because of that an incredible chain of events is displayed through the book.

I have to say that Locke, Ron and Jo make a fantastic trio. They're very funny and they're very well described.

I have to say that I wanted something more at the end. The relationship between Jo and her "protector" didn't have the ending I expected. The others characters had their clousure but they didn't. It wasn't fair. But despite that, it's a very entertaining book, funny and it's a good twist of a classic tale.

Happy Reading!!!

I felt really intrigued by the cover and the description of this book! And really it didn't dissappoint me. This is an amazing book!
A story full with mystery, romance, a rollercoaster of felings and a series of discoveries. It's a great recipe for an excellent book.

Lets start with some generalities:
*The characters are really well described, and every one of them is written wonderfully.
*The argument: OMG! is fantastic! I love when a book has a strong background and you can really feel that everything that happens in it is true, and you don't feel like is all a bunch of stuff put together! Every thing that the author add gives a sense of whole to the story.

My personal opinion: OMG!! I loved this book! I really loved it!
I could have read it in only a few hours, but I took my time to enjoyed it (two days).
The main characters (Madison and Isacc) made my heart speed up every time they were together and their relationship took my breath away more than once.
If you are a careful reader like myself, you will notice that from the very start are some signals on how the story is going to develop, but it doesn't take away any of the "magic".

I have to admit I was really surprised on how much I like it, however is good to find a book that leaves you with such a good feeling after you read it.

OMG! What a great book!
I have to say that from the start I felt this was going to be amazing! Anything that involves, magic, demons, spells, a beautiful Lord, and I girl who ended up being the hero... well that's a great amount of things.
This book wrote in the format of the girl's diary (very Jane Austen) takes us to a 1800 New Yor city, and involves us in mystery and curses.
Every date of the book (there are not chapters, only dates as entries in the diary) is more intrigant and fantastic that the one before!
A great choise if you love magic, ghost, demons, and a great love story!

The Lure of Shapinsay - Review

The Lure of Shapinsay
Ever since Kait Swanney could remember, the old crones of the village have been warning her to stay away from the selkies. They claim that like sirens of old, the seal men creep from the inky waters, shed their skins, and entice women to their deaths beneath the North Sea. But avoiding an encounter becomes impossible when Kait is spotted at the water’s edge, moments after the murder of a half-selkie infant.

Unexpectedly, Kait is awoken by a beautiful, naked selkie man seeking revenge. After she declares her innocence, the intruder darts into the night, but not before inadvertently bewitching her with an overpowering lure.

Kait obsesses over a reunion deep beneath the bay and risks her own life to be reunited with her selkie. But when she lands the dangerous lover, the chaos that follows leaves Kait little time to wonder—is it love setting her on fire or has she simply been lured?

A simply way to describe this story could be to label it like a "Love story". But it's much more than that.
But we all adore love stories and that because love stories are always full with emotions, and those who includes fantastic creatures are even more breathtaking... This story made me hold my breath more than once.
I really love this story because it introduces us to a new kind of creature: the selkies!
The selkie man are describe like beautiful men that lure human woman, so everything in them is atractive! Their story is very interesting, and I believe that Krista made a wonderful job describing their origin.
And the Selkie man in this story is incredible! it's imposible not to love him! and everything that happens to him and Katie is like a roller coaster.
It's easy to feel relate to the love that they share because that's what love is... is like an enchantment that blinds us from the rest of the world. It makes us feel that the only place we can be happy is next to the one we love! And sometimes we feel like we've been lure, just because the pain that the mere presence of the other has in us.
That's why this book is so great, they have to deal with a lot of obstacles, some of them very common for some couples and some relate to the nature of their species, 'cause at the end that's the greatest one: she is a human and he a selkie, that by nature should only try to lure her and then leave her. But they have to try their best to evercome this.

A great story recomendable for everyone who likes a great romance involving humans and fantastic creatures.
